Bump Watch Series: 17 Weeks

Weekly Bump Update. Pregnancy Update. Pregnancy Journal

Wow 17 weeks today! That means the half way point is almost here and I guiltily have not done ANY pregnancy tracking. This is so unlike me but I just don’t think my heart was ready until we got further along. Liam’s growth was tracked so early on and the experience shattered me into a million pieces. So with Baby Girl I guess I shielded myself by waiting. But now, I’m ready! Although, I’m a bit disappointed it took me so long, I won’t be dwelling on it and will just continue to engulf myself into the excitement of growing this little human <3  This pregnancy I will obviously document the growing bump via photographs but I also will be using the prettiest Pregnancy Journal by Colette from Paperlust to document so much more. The cravings, the emotions and the highlights; just to name a few. There are so many magical moments in pregnancy which you promise yourself you’ll always remember. And although that is true for many of them, little details do get lost along the way. Having a journal is an amazing way to keep track of the journey. Not to mention, it’s the most magical gift that you can give your little one once they are old enough to appreciate it. I can’t wait to start scribbling down all the weeks pregnancy adventures to then later give to our little girl to read.  I HIGHLY recommend pregnant mama’s have one. If you don’t; It’s not too late! Head on over to Paperlust to see all the beautiful designs they have to choose from.  This honestly would be the perfect gift for an expecting mama. I’ll be honest, I looked on the web for “the perfect” pregnancy book for quite some time and immediately fell in love with Colette’s layout. It’s very organized, not overwhelming and gives you the freedom to write your own mommy notes but also fill in cute updates every week. Oh, they are also extremely well priced. If you’re interested in one, I have good news,  you can receive 10% off by using the discount code castle10.

The Bump Watch Series will be posted every Tuesday as this is the day I transition into a brand new week. The blog will share images of recent bump photos and a recap of the past week.  My series posts won’t be this lengthy, but you know how it goes, a good story always requires a strong introduction 😉

How far along? 17 weeks
Baby is now the size of:  A turnip (according to WTE)
Gender: A GIRL!
Maternity clothes?
Just purchased a pair of  mint maternity pants & jeans from H&M as well as 2 skirts and dress pants for work. I’ve been living in Maxi skirts though.
Stretch marks? Not yet. Crossing my fingers never. I lather myself in coconut oil nightly.
Movement: This week I’ve felt movement FOR SURE! Saturday morning when I woke up and yesterday  she had a little party in the afternoon. It only lasts a few seconds (even though I poke and push hoping for more) but its so magical.
Sleep:
I’m the lightest sleeper on the planet so I get woken many times in the night. Baby isn’t to blame (yet!) but our furbaby might be!
Food cravings: I’m equally obsessed with carbonated water as I was the first time. I don’t even consider it a craving. It is a absolute NECESSITY! I’ve been eating a lot of crepes and craving creme brulee (still haven’t taken care of this one).
Food Aversion: Chicken. I can’t even stand the thought of it.
Favorite meal this week:
Crepes
Miss Anything? RED WINE
Anything making you queasy or sick: After taste of chocolate. Weird eh?
Have you started to show yet:  Yes! I’ve been told I’ve popped 🙂
Looking forward to: More movement.
Worst moment this week: When I saw a missed call from my doctor’s office. I panicked. I was in pure fear mode. BUT, they were just calling to tell me that all my recent tests came back with great results (they did leave a message but my panic made me call back faster than even thinking about voicemail).  My doctor’s office is seriously the best. It’s usually “no news is good news” but they actually take the time to update me and although it scared me, I really appreciate their genuine concern and support.
Best moment this week: Officially feeling movement<3

Please don’t mind the quality of my images. Beau was away for work, so I took these around 11pm yesterday evening alone with horrible lighting on a self-timer. Let me just tell you, there were MANY outtakes and the reason my face isn’t in many 😉
