How far along? 35 Weeks! 5 more weeks until the big 4-0!
Baby is now the size of: Canary Melon. I won’t lie, I had to Google what this even was. After my google search I realized how big of a fruit this really was and when you compare your growing baby to a fruit that looks this large you begin to get very scared of the thought of that baby exiting via your ‘hooha.’ Mother nature is one crazy thing!
Movement: I’ve been trying to video the ripples in the belly but I’m always a little late for the show. I will catch her eventually! Her one body part (what is currently undetermined as either the head or the butt) sticks out on my upper right side which is actually causing some pain. Some days it’s quite sore. Wishfully she doesn’t grow out of “womb” in there!
Food cravings: I wouldn’t advise leaving any chocolate unattended, as I will eat it… all. MMMM chocolate!
Purchases: I purchased some rugs for her nursery that I love but just don’t work (so I will be returning and trying again) as well as some bibs and swaddle sacks.
Nursery Update: Coming along now! The crib can officially be all finished as the mattress arrived today. We ended up going with the Naturepedic Series. This was a really important purchase for me as babies do spend a lot of time sleeping in their crib (if you aren’t co-sleeping) and after reading/researching, I was most comfortable with going Organic here. We’ve also teamed up with some amazing businesses that will be part of her nursery decor/reveal!
Renovation Update: Oh boy… We are in some major renovations here. Our kitchen is currently gutted to plywood floors and just drywall. I cook the simplest of meals only using the stove as my prep and cook area and wash the dishes in the bathtub… one at a time. I’ll be sharing our progress on the blog and wrote a post this week about our full reno plans which you can find here.
Doctor Update: I went in on Tuesday and had gained TWO POUNDS from last week! Currently at 131.8. That shocked me as it used to take me two weeks to gain one pound. Baby is growing (or my thighs)… let’s blame baby! In addition, my doctor’s office still thinks little girl is possibly in a breech position and I will be heading to an ultrasound this morning to see. It’s still too early to panic but we are confirming just so we can start creating some plans. I honestly never ever envisioned a C-Section so this is really throwing me for a loop! Please be in a head-down position baby.
Meaningful Photographs: The location and outfit of these 35 week images were very coordinated. My mom has a photograph of her being pregnant with me (possibly around this week or a little further) on boat in a blue and white striped dress. The moment I knew I was expecting was the moment I knew I wanted to somehow create a similar image. My baby is due two months after my birth month so it was impossible to get an exact remake of the image (not to mention finding a similar dress which I looked for all summer long). So instead I found a great blue and white striped maternity long sleeved tee and headed to our local Marina. Barely a boat in site, but it’s the thought that counts and I’m so very excited to compare photographs.
Don’t forget to check out the Home Sweet Home: In Progress Post from this week and come back on Monday to see what our kitchen currently looks like!
