Today we officially hit full term; the big 37 weeks and I can’t believe it! Our little girl could potentially arrive any day now and although it feels like I’ve been pregnant “forever” it also feels like it flew by. How that is possible, I do not know, but is truthfully how I feel.
In honour of our 37 week milestone I’d like to share the most magical maternity shoot I could have ever dreamed of; ours. I wanted a location that oozed romance and magic. Naturally this meant a castle-esque destination. After some researching I knew I had found the most perfect location to capture such magic in our lives and was so thankful Beau was on board for all of it. He knew how important my vision of our shoot was to me and let me plan it all without any fuss. I swooned when he said “I know how important this shoot is to you so just let me know when it is, what to wear and how to get there.” He didn’t even flinch (too much) when I told him it would be a two hour drive… one way or when I told him I bought him a pink collared shirt to wear or the fact that it was ZERO degrees celsius and on our way there homes had about 2 inches of snow on their roof! It was all worth it!
As a photographer, I saw my vision for every scene this magical place offered and luckily our photographer was so amazing in just letting me direct. From where I wanted to sit/stand, to the pose I wanted us in to how far and close I wanted the shot, she captured everything exactly as I had requested. I am so thankful she didn’t get frustrated with me (as I know this can be absolutely annoying during shoots). Of course, I did take a couple of “hold your excited horses Camilla” breaths (thanks to Eric’s reminder that I was running a mile a minute) and asked if she had any visions in mind that we could capture. Those unforeseen images are an amazing addition to our maternity gallery. She did a beautiful job!
I have so many favourites that I might do another post from our session later on to share more of this chapter of our fairytale.
My dress is from Pink Blush Maternity (posted about them here) and I picked it out specifically for our maternity shoot. It was perfect (and thankfully long sleeved due to the frigid weather).
For now, I am off to wash all our baby clothes and gear. I actually haven’t ripped a tag off ANYTHING nor have I taken anything out of the packaging. Don’t ask me why other than I love the look of everything being brand new and it places so neatly all nice and packed. But I had a dream last night that I went into labour and had nothing in the closet washed, nothing unpackaged and no hospital bag packed. So this put fire under my butt to get everything in order. I am officially REALLY excited to meet our little girl (not that I wasn’t excited before, I just honestly really love my pregnancy).
