I spend a lot of time brainstorming the perfect execution when it comes to basically anything and everything (for example: Olivia’s Flamingo Baby Shower, Our Enchanted Maternity Photos, Olivia’s Baptism, you get the point). Asking my bridesmaids was absolutely no exception. I wanted each ask to be borderline based on an inside joke, a memory or event experienced together. Absolutely something personal to us. These are the three ideas I came up with. The first two I came up with on my own, the last one was Pinterest inspired.
1: Hilarious Bridesmaid Ask: MAD GAB
I am so fortunate to have a group of girls that still make an effort to get together on the regular. May it be for a night or a weekend, but it’s never without board games. MAD GAB is a fan favourite and there seems to be a running joke about the way I play. Apparently I put on quite the show and speak in accents I never knew were within me. As soon as I was engaged (confession maybe even before) I knew I’d use this game (no Pinterest for this one).
I hunted down the games, created a MAD GAB riddle on the computer (just by sounding out what I wanted written and chopping it up and inserting like sounding words) and stuck it onto a game card. Yes, I went through three whole decks picking out the perfect cards (ex: always by my side & peas in a pod were amongst the chosen ones). I then tied them onto the outside of the game and viola! Hilarious cards were attached.

2: University Bridesmaid Ask: Western
My first week of University I had the pleasure of meeting two of the sweetest girls around. Our first encounter went so well that they gave me their emails written in highlighter up my arms almost instantly (to add to msn of course). A year in the same residence and four years in the same program resulted in a ton of memories, laughter and friendships I’ll cherish forever. We don’t get to see each other often, but when we do it’s “just like yesterday.”
Naturally, our University had to be included in their ask. It also had to be easy enough to mail. So I came up with getting cookies created in our school logo and changing the word “Mustangs” into the ask (“Bridesmaid?”). I also created a card that defined bridesmaid with a lot of our memories/jokes.
3: Cute Bridesmaid Ask: Favourite Cocktails
Last but not least was my future sister in law’s (that sounds cool!) ask. Although, I’ve known her the least amount of time the party wouldn’t be the same without her. Not yet having a lot of inside jokes in our pockets, we do share a love for Ceasers. I did some Pinteresting and created an ask with one of our favourite cocktails (I almost added a jar of jumbo pickles but it didn’t look as pretty). The tags were made on my computer and the same ribbon used on the MAD GAB ask was used.
Luckily for me, they all said yes and I couldn’t be more ecstatic!
This is going to be one hell of a 338 days!
Next week I’ll share our venue hunt.
