The next event on our wedding list is our Buck and Doe, also known as a Stag and Doe or Jack and Jill. This event seems to be the norm in the northern neck of the woods I’m in and isn’t as popular south of me or outside of Canada. In a nutshell it’s a big party, usually themed (and if it wasn’t I’m sure I would anyways) celebrating the couple and kind of acting as a ‘fundraiser’ for their big day.
There are absolutely mixed reviews about buck and does. Especially from those who are in an area where they aren’t the norm. From March – September in my town there seems to be one booked every weekend so planning one is just so natural. Bottomline, it’s just a really fun way to celebrate the upcoming nuptials with your guests and people who may not be able to attend your big day.
In true northern fashion, we have opted to do a Canadian Tuxedo Themed Buck and Doe (my high school prom idea was not taken very well from the male variety..BOOOOO). So second best, we decided to go the vintage Britney Spears and JT route and make the theme denim on denim on denim (what Canadian Tuxedo means). The tackier the better.
Jean bunting, table runners and invitations are just a few of the things you will see.
You can have a peak into our tickets. They are PERFECT and are from Canada Ticket Printing. I didn’t have to design anything, they actually had this jean template (amongst hundred of other themes). You can however upload your own design if you wanted. Not to mention their pricing could not be beat!
It was such an easy process using Canada Ticket Printing and the tickets arrived within 48 hours! They do also have a tethered bottom for easy ripping and have the option to use the back real estate (which we did).
I highly recommend!
