And it’s official, our wedding invitations have been sent and the feedback has been more than enough to make my heart BURST! What makes me even more excited is that before our invitees opened the invitation, they were ooh-ing and ah-ing at the envelope. The secret?
I’m a firm believer of ‘it’s all in the details’ and since wedding invitations set the mood, feel and overall tone of the magical day, to me, they are worth a bit of a splurge.
From years of Pinteresting, I fell in love with Calligraphy and how it automatically enhances… everything, so I knew come wedding time I needed (okay, wanted) to include it.
I met with Jess from Barefoot and Boho and instantly felt like I had known her for a long time. After a short lunch date, I knew she was the must have addition to our wedding day. She just totally understood my entire vision!
I didn’t realize there were so many choices in Calligraphy; I just assumed calligraphy meant “script.” Jess was amazing at helping me pin down options. Things like what type of script font, font of addresses, left, centre or right justified, ink colours, upper or lower case and size of calligraphy all needed to be chosen. Besides knowing the exact script look I wanted for the names, she took reign on the rest and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I LOVE how they turned out!
If you’re teetering on choosing calligraphy, just jump on board. This is the guests very first glimpse of what’s to come and you never get a second chance to make a great first impression 😉 I also HIGHLY recommend Jess from Barefoot and Boho. And if you’re super budget conscious don’t worry, she reviews what you’re looking for and creates a plan to fit your vision and your budget!
We are still working with Jess and are so excited to share what other ways we’ve incorporated calligraphy on our big day!
