I’m so excited to share this post with you! When I got engaged (okay long before), I had a vision for everything wedding. And as an event control freak, I usually like to take charge at all the planning and executing; I truly enjoy bringing events to life. But, one of my bridal showers was off limits (the friend-guest shower hosted by my awesome bridesmaids). Luckily for me, I have the best bridesmaids in the world and they created this seriously perfect bohemian shower that I ooh’ed and aah’ed at the entire afternoon. Honestly, these girls out did themselves.
The location was one of my high school bestie’s home (a bridesmaid). A century year old home nestled into a quaint area of town. The original finishes, vintage touches of home decor and cozy atmosphere was the perfect setting. The food table was equipped with the most delicious dishes including curry chicken sandwiches, a fresh balsamic salad, fresh macarons from a local bakery and the most gorgeous naked cake. A gorgeous luscious garland of greenery ran the entire middle of the table on a craft paper runner that draped the sides. Just like a fairytale. Sophie Conran dishes were partnered with statement clear candlesticks. No detail spared!
The beautiful cake was handmade by my just as gorgeous maid of honour. This girl is one of many talents! She is so creative, witty and domesticated. She can craft, she has an eye for detail and is top notch in the kitchen.
A vintage repurposed kitchen island cart hosted the bar. Spiked pink lemonade, mimosas and cucumber infused water in mason jars were on the menu. The favours were adorable. They were white washed mini ceramic pots stamped with “grow love” with a swirly cute plant made with love by the ladies. I took two of these cuties home with me.
Two games were arranged. First was a relationship timeline game. About 15 photos of Eric and I from the last 7 years were randomly hung on a line. Guests had to chronologically order them from 2010-2017. The lady with the most correct won a prize. It was a lot of fun reminiscing about some of the events the images were from. Game two, inspired by They NewlyWed Game, brought on a lot of laughs (specifically those about ‘whoopee’). Beau was asked questions before the day and I was asked the same questions that morning. We then had to compare answers. We did pretty well and had a good number of answers that were the same. Nick Carter even made it into the big day. The living room had a bridal setup by the fireplace with a staged vintage chair and side table with florals, a bride banner, an amazing hand written sign (again by the MOH) and luscious garland draping the fireplace.
My outfit was a rosegold sequin skirt paired with a white t-shirt that said “Bride” in the most sparkly pink writing. It was so fun wearing this outfit. And these beautiful girls (minus one) were the magicians behind it all. The best friends a girl could ask for. I can’t imagine our big day without them by my side. From high school, to university and back again, these girls are my rocks. I thank them from the bottom of my heart to curating the most perfect boho bridal shower. There isn’t anything I would even consider changing.
