A little wedding update for you. We have now passed the one month mark (under 20 days even) and I honestly can’t even register that; it does not feel real. But it is!
With the one month mark, came the official meeting with Katie our event planner from The Event Design Co. I was so, so excited to finally meet her in person. She was so sweet and immediately made me feel like a friend. It was quickly revealed that she has so much passion and knowledge in the planning industry and was ready to tackle our wedding head on!
We met at our wedding venue and sat down to discuss all the details as well as doing a venue tour. This included things like decor decision making, timeline creation and vendor discussions. She asked so many questions I hadn’t even thought of and was an awesome “partner in crime” to making some final decisions on floor plan and dining plan.
As a bride who has taken the reign on the planning, I’ve felt pretty prepared thus far. My vendors are in the loop, my decor vision is coming to life and I’ve been making sure to think about all the little pieces that bring the big details to life. Still with my control freak planning personality I hadn’t made some necessary decisions and sometimes hadn’t even considered many of the details Katie was asking about! I couldn’t believe how much more there was to the planning and the smooth execution of the day that I hadn’t quite pondered about.
Leaving our meeting I felt so relieved to have her by my side. She reviews all my contracts to ensure I am following the protocol, she creates the day of schedule, she connects with all the vendors as the main liaison between myself and them and seriously just helps put the entire day together. In my opinion, her services extend far beyond wedding planning, she is the anchor to ensuring it all goes off without a hitch and if there are bumps in the road she is there to come up with ways to dodge them.
Time to get my butt in gear and really tackle all the things I’ve now left to the last minute. It is going to be a very, very busy (not even) three weeks!
