You may have seen me traveling the city sides to source different samples for our kitchen. I can finally say it’s coming along and quite quickly! Although it is near impossible to have good meals with a stove placed in the middle of what will be a dining room with clutter all around, we know it will be worth it!
Beau has been working so hard night and weekends to prep the space for the kitchen install scheduled for next week. The walls have been removed, supporting beams have been placed, plumbing has been moved and everything is measured. These images share the demo process. Currently Beau is working on the floor (the last image shows the beginning of this process as the blue stuff is a protective adhesive coating to the other steps he is taking). Once the floor is complete, drywall will go up in the necessary spots, electrical moved, upper cabinets removed and we are ready to rumble!
This project was the plan since we purchased the home and our goal was to have it complete before baby’s arrival end of November. I think we were a LIIIIIITTTLE too ambitious (as we started with the basement reno and had to switch gears this month to the kitchen) but at least we have a deadline. It’s an unknown deadline as our little girl could decide to come early, but our fingers are crossed it will work out! Are we crazy, YUP! Do I recommend such a project weeks before a newborn, not really. But we are really excited for it to be done.
You can read about all our home reno plans here. And make sure to be checking back as I will be sharing our Kitchen reno process throughout the next couple of weeks 🙂
